WFTV channel 9 ran a story about a plumber who found twenty thousand dollars in an air duct and returned it. According to the story a widow that previously resided in the home had stashed money all over the house and forgot one of her hiding places. The plumber said he was scared when he found it and did what he believes everyone should do, the right thing.
I respect the plumber in this story for doing the right thing. I think the previous owner who stashed the money may have been a little crazy though.
First of all who hides thousands of dollars in foil packets in random places around their home? Drug dealers and crazy elderly, that's who! What if the house burned down? All of this widow's money would be gone. It's sad that she couldn't trust a bank enough to protect her money. Thank goodness they hired an honest plumber or they may never had found that money.
It's refreshing to hear stories like this and I hope this man's honesty was rewarded.

ReplyDeleteThat's pretty awesome, and I do agree with you in the hopes that he got rewarded. I don't, however, find that the lady was crazy because she hid money all over her house. Sometimes people just have their own way of doing things and if banks aren't her thing, then "safe places" might as well be. Yes, she could have lost her money, but maybe she had a plan for that. You never know what's going on in the heads of others.
