Babysitter found on Craigslist charged with sexual assault

Steven P. Knox of Webster, TX is free on $30,000 bond after being arrested and charged of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14.Knox allegedly posted an ad on Craiglist offering babysitting services. The child's mother said she found Knox on Craigslist and allowed him to babysit her three children for a few months.

I'm not sure who I am more angered at, the pedophile or the mother. Definitely the pedophile.

What would possess someone to go looking on Craigslist for a babysitter? Perhaps if they had done a background check and had verifiable references I might consider it, but Craigslist would definitely not be my first choice. I am not blaming the mother for what happened, nobody would ever want this to happen to their child, but she needs to uphold a certain level of responsibility for her children to protect their safety.

After the "Craiglist killer" incidents I would think that people would be more careful, you can bet I won't be going on Craigslist to find a babysitter for my children.
