The LA Times
The LA Times posted an article about the Kardashian divorce. The article talks about the divorce and quotes Kim Kardashian as saying her marriage wasn't a sham to make money for a television show. There are also quotes from family members stating the same thing and that they support Kim.
Honestly I don't care if Kim Kardashian is getting a divorce after 72 days. What angers me is that not everyone has the same rights regarding marriage.
Kim is quoted as saying her marriage wasn't a hoax to make money, but who would come out and say it was. After all she did profit over seventeen million dollars from the wedding. She can get married for 72 days and Brittney Spears for 72 hours, yet we must protect the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. This makes me angry!
Last night at the end of the Chelsea Lately show she had an invitation and menu from the Kardashian wedding and said that she is auctioning them off on EBay and all the proceeds are going to be donated to the Human Rights Campaign, activists for marriage equality. Go Chelsea!
It's funny that the issue of equality for marriage comes up after this 72-day fiasco. But, really, some do take marriage for granted when not everyone HAS that right. (And it IS a right..)
ReplyDeleteI really don't think their marriage was a sham, I just think she's an idiot and the engagement wasn't long enough. A month or two of dating doesn't equate to a long marriage. I believe you need yeaaaars to find out what a person is really like & whether you're compatible with them in the long run.
