Man arrested for texting naked photo of girlfriend's daughter

In Arizona Eugene Foster is being charged with the sexual exploitation of a minor after texting a naked picture of his girlfriend's daughter to 40 contacts in the daughter's cell phone. Foster found the photo on her phone and was trying to teach her a lesson by sending the photo to her contacts. Law enforcement does not believe that Foster was intentionally trying to exploit his girlfriend's daughter.

Foster went too far by trying to teach this child a lesson in this manner. He definitely needs a lesson in parenting but I think charging him with the sexual exploitation of a minor is a bit drastic, especially because law enforcement investigators found that it was not intentional. This could essentially ruin his life and he could be forced to register as a sex offender for making a terrible parenting decision. Yes he handled the whole situation inappropriately but I don't agree that the punishment fits the "crime".

  1. I don't think the punishment fits the crime either, but I do think that this "behavior" is completely unjustified. Fourty fowards is a bit drastic especially considering it was "just to teach her a lesson." Yes, the girl needs to understand the consequences, but parenting in this manner will never cut it.
